Summer boredom strikes again...

I've been pretty much fooling around with my embroidery machine all day!
Last night, my needle broke on me, in the middle of a beautiful initial monogram on a waffle weave cosmetic bag. Completely ruined the bag, I spend hours trying to seam rip it. Didn't help. Rip the actual bag. I was VERY upset, I was so excited when I purchased that cute little bag. Mom fixed it. Broke again... Fixed it again, it hasn't messed up on me, yet.

Anyways, yesterday I met up with my grandparents to eat lunch after cheer practice and then my grandmother took me to Hobby Lobby, and the Dollar Tree to pick up some things for me to craft and craft with :)

So here is how I spent my day.

Okay, this wasn't today but I still made it :)
Thanks to my moms friend Diana for teaching me this little technique.
I just LOVE the frayed edges.
My dad looked at me like I was crazy when I showed him but I love it!
He just don't know style.
The hat came from the Dollar Tree

Okay, this is how I spent my day.
My friend Shelby I've mentioned had her baby today
Welcome to the world Ms. Kyleigh Chilton!
You are already loved SO much and I can't wait to meet you!
I was so exited I jumped behind my machine and put the beautiful K on a baby blankie, again from the Dollar Tree.

I've had these shorts for a while now that my grandmother picked up from WalMart for $3 on sale.
I had a pair of the grey and green ones and the pink and grey ones didn't fit like I liked them.
So I figured I would use them to practice before ripping into a brand new pair.
I decided to put an M on them for my best friend Megan whose birthday is at the end of the month.

So ya know how I said I kind of destroyed my adorable make up bag I was so in love with?!?!
WELL my Mom had the WONDERFUL idea to just simply put a patch on it like the hats.
OH MY! I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!!
And it hides the picked up mess under it!
I love it!

Then I added the Walt Disney font to the two shirts I made for me and my mom for Disney :)

I also got this ribbon from Hobby Lobby and made me and mom keychains for Disney, I am so excited!
Can you tell?

Last but not least, I made this bow, again for Megan's birthday :)

Thanks for reading!

Disney Bound!

I am SO excited about our upcoming Disney Trip, so excited I've made Disney stuff!
If I am still into all this crafting when I get older and have kids, they'll hate me once it comes to vacations, especially Disney ones! THEY WILL have an outfit AND matching ears for every single day. ;)

For now, I'll just stick to crafting for myself!
Here are my Disney items making the trip with me! :)

A tank top I personally made for myself! :)
It's just simply head n bonded down.
Total cost of this shirt w/ fabric and heat n bond,
around $5.
A shirt like this would cost  you $30 or more.

My handmade Minnie Mouse ears/headband.
See my previous post for more details on these! :)
All items probably totaled
$3

Last but not least, my autograph book and jumbo fat pencil!
These were in the cheap section at WalMart for $1 each!
I heard that the fur characters write better with fat pencils or sharpies because of there hands in the costumes. So this was perfect.

All this added up to around $10 or cheaper.

You could use these gifts to give your children when you surprise them with there next trip to Walt Disney World :)

A tank top from Walt Disney World- $34.50
Minnie Ears headband WITHOUT name- $21.95
Autograph Book- $7.95
Total of $64 or more!
I just saved myself $54 and had fun doing it :)

First Embroidered Crafts!

So, my mom got me a Brother PE770 for an absolute steal at a bargain store. However, the hoops were missing. We ordered one 5x7 on amazon on a Wednesday and by Friday we got it in. So you know me and mom popped that sucker right one in, turned it on and yes, it worked! Fit like a glove! THEN we jumped in the car and headed to Hobby Lobby and got some new fabric and thread for the machine!

We got home at about 2:00 and I ran upstairs and started playing! Skimmed the manual and watched some youtube videos and I was ready to go. About 10:00 I was still playing with very little downtime!

Here's a couple of things I have made :)

Monogrammed pocket!
It's a boy cut tank top from Wal-Mart and fabric is a grey damask from Hobby Lobby :)
I just added my first initial.

These aren't monogrammed but I'm considering seam ripping them and putting an initial on it now that I have a vibrant purple embroidering thread. Its also a boy tank top with an animal print duck cloth fabric from HL

Full view

Mini pocket tee's for my 2 sweet baby cousins, Lily and Laney. Found these for $1 at the Dollar Tree
Couldn't find one small enough for tiny Leah.
Both will be thrilled it matches Hailey.
Laney will be especially happy that its her favorite color, purple or "puple" as she says

I am most proud of this out of all my shirts. The anchor is from the website www.embroiderydesigns.com in there free section. You can download up to 3 free designs a week.  Loved this anchor for this pocked. And it was my first project with two different colors. The anchor is navy blue and the robe swooped around is black.
Its also a boys tank top and fabric is from HL

At the Dollar Tree picking up those tees for the little girls I stopped by the baby section and picked up this blanket. I got brave and did it my first night. Its a baby present for a friend of my Dad's baby that is due anytime this week.
Wrapped inside it is a baby wipe holder with her initials from the Cricut my mom put on it and inside of that is a mini pocket onesie.
The best place to find plain single onsies is Hobby Lobby.
Walmart only tends to carry packs of 3-5 in either white, or with a design.
Love this name!

-----------------------------------------------------------
The next day we went to a horse show and got home around 10:00
What did I do?
Played with my new baby!
I already had Minnie Mouse ears from my previous Disney World trip so wasn't really planning on buying any but I really like the idea of the headband ones. Mine is the traditional hat with the elastic on the neck which gets aggravating.  Especially when its 100 plus degrees in the South.

So I whipped these up!
I covered the headband that was houndstooth white a plain black ribbon, use a candle top for the template of the ears and a roll of duct tape to cut out foam circles that are on the inside to keep them standing up. The actual ears are just black felt. Mine was thin felt, thick would work better.
I then monogrammed two picked of black fabric with my first and middle name and then cut them to fit the ears and simply hot glued them on. I then added the polka dot bow since I am all girly like that and I HAD to be Minnie Mouse! :) The middle is black and white chevron where I added a rhinestone stud :)
Simple and cheap! Took about 30 minutes.
Everything was laying around my house useless.
This would be perfect for a trip to Disney or a Mickey/Minnie Mouse themed birthday party.
At WalMart today in the party section they had single packs that were much smaller and the ears were cheap plastic and the head band part was extremely flimsy. They were over $2 FOR ONE!
That would add up with a big party!
The embroidery is NOT necessary for this project so this is something anyone could do.

-------------------------------------------------------

Today was my brothers 13th birthday. I made him this shirt. The design came free from the website listed above. I then changed out the thread and added his name. It isn't perfect but he was very happy with it!

Walmart has dollar section sort of like Target but it isn't near as big or at my WM, organized!
But I found this, and decided to pick it up for a whole buck and put Kyleigh on it for a friend of mine that is actually at the hospital at the moment waiting for her to come :)

These were my first bows I made with embroidery.
This one is for my neighbor and family friend Mattie that cheers a on a small youth park and rec squad.
They are the bulldogs and there colors are navy, white and gold.
This ribbon wasn't the best, it was silky rather than matte.

This one I made for me, and it just had a simple H on it for Hailey! :)
I'm a cheerleader and always wear bows! I love them! :)
Even considering make some Disney ones ;)
I am a freak, I know.

Last thing!
Fancy smancy napkins I made for mom!
We've had these laying around and we decided to jazz them up!
A simple P for our last name, rolled them cute, set them with a small rubber band, and tied bows onto them :) Made 6 of these for our kitchen table

That was LONG!
Anyways, thanks for reading!

Modge Podge of Crafts

Here are some things that I have made over the summer so far, and some other things that I didn't make but thought I would share with you :)

This picture was not actually made by me, it was a part of our camp gifts for cheer!
Every year we do a camp gifts for every night of the week during camp and the seniors are responsible for coming up with the ideas and making them. My job was the bows...84 bows.
One of the moms made these tho. The picture frame came from Hobby Lobby, then she just picked out the ribbon and brooch and added them to the corner! They were about $8 using coupons and getting the frame 1/2 at Hobby Lobby.
Then another mom took the pictures of us while we were down there. We were on the football field.
These were Wednesday night gifts

The seniors know all the gifts since we are the ones that get them together but our sponsors wanted to surprise us one night, so on Tuesday we got the shirts. Each grade got there class color.
Freshmen-purple
Sophomores-green
Juniors-Blue
Seniors-PINK!

Monday we got all of our bows, NINE bows each!
As well as our classic t-shirt which was cute
And bobbypins & pony tail holders

our last night was our big gift, my favorite!
Pandora Bracelets with the new cheer charm!
Ahhh, it was so freaking cute! I love mine and have already added so much to it.
---------------------------------------
This I made! I was bored one day and wanted to make something so I made this for my sunglasses!
And I really have used it a lot, even if I dont put the glasses inside of them I always make sure once I take them off in my car I sit them right on it so they dont scratch!

This is the inside, I doubled the fabric to make it thicker and more protective of the glasses!
Its navy blue & white chevron and the inside is a yellow damask print

Last thing for today, baby onsie frockets!
I made these for a friend of mine that is expecting a baby any day now!
She had an absolute fit over these!
I must say, it was extremely hard to sew such tiny pockets! lol

Hope you enjoyed!

Decor!

Before prom I just knew I would want TONS of pictures frames! So I made some!

These are SO easy!

At Walmart in the craft section and especially right now during VBS times with the churches they have the simple .97 cent pictures frames! Just plain unfinished wood, a small stick for it to stand up and it doesnt have glass.

But they are SO fun to jazz up!
All you need is the picture frame
Scrapbook paper, best if its cardstock which most pieces are
Modge Podge
Scissors, and exacto knife
And if you want to add any cute decor around the tops wired ribbon and brooches make it even cuter!

Here are some I have made! I have also made two 5x7 frames but one is at my moms work and the other photo got deleted!
Me and my beautiful mom on my prom day!

 Me and Anthony (boyfriend)
The brooch was my hair piece for prom!
The infinity sign is kind of our "thing"
He bought me a ring back last year for our one year anniversary & necklace for my 17th birthday :)
So this was perfect for prom and this pic frame!

This came from Walmart too! It was a little under $5
A cute bow would be cute at the top!

Zoomed in! I just left the middle the spray painted black and modge podged this piece of scrapbook paper on!

My squad went to the University of Alabama for our cheer camp!
So I found this old frame that no longer matched my room so I painted it up and modge podged houndstooth
and put a baby elephant as the brooch!
So cute and simple/cheap to make!
This is an 8x10 picture

-------------------------------------------------
I bought this flameless candle from the Dollar Tree for a whole buck!
It has a beautiful little glow but it was so sad and plain so of course I had to spice it up!
Just simply modge podged paper on!
I LOVE THAT STUFF!

Thanks for reading!

Where Dreams Come True!

My parents surprised my brother and I with our vacation this year! We had talked about a couple of different places all spring, the beach like usual, the moutains, ehh we went back in winter, a road trip to the Grand Canyon, no thanks Dad! I can dig a big hole in the back yard and go look at it... This is technically my "last" summer as a "kid" cause there is NO telling what next year will bring going into college. Did I just saying I was going into college?! My goodness where did time go?

Anyways, can you guess where we are going?!

YES WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!
So of course, being the craft crazy person I am, I had to make shirts!
These were made before my embroidery machine made its debut!
They are just heat n bonded down!

They are both the mens Fruit of the Loom brand from Walmart

Tank Top for me!

 T-shirt for Mom!
I love this red SO much!

Hope you enjoyed!

xoxo-Hailey :)

SAY WHAT?!?!

People have asked, how did you get your initial on that shirt?!?! Knowing I didn't have an embroidery machine! It was just an iron on! :)

Well now, thanks to my AWESOME mom, I am the proud owner of a Brother PE 770!

We got this at a Bargain Store for a STEAL! However, it didn't come with the hoops so we are ordering some online! :)

I can not wait to get to play with my new baby!

xoxo-Hailey :)

Frocket Tank Tops!

When winter started turning into Spring I really got into the whole pocket shirt making thing! Buying one for $15-$20 when I could make one myself? HELLO?! Plus my options were limitless! So the shirt making began! My friends got really excited about it and I had people handing me shirt and fabric left and right! I made 2 for a friends mom for Mothers Day and they loved them so much that about a month later she brought me 8 shirts to make for them! I truly love it, I could make tons and tons in one day but do I really need all of that for myself?! haha! Well now summer is here and even a t-shirt gets to hot sometimes down here in the south so the tanks began! Here are some that I have made so far and I have 4 more shirts sitting around waiting for a pocket!

I would first off like to apologize for the AWFUL quality of this picture, I guess I wasn't really paying attention when I took this but anyways!
The first two tanks are from Walmart, they were $3.97 a piece!
The fabric came from Hobby Lobby!
They are Fruit of the Loom brand and are actually men shirts but I love the way these fit. They are super big but I always wear a sports bra under mine and you can tie the back with a cute ribbon!

This first one is a solid dark grey shirt with a navy blue/white chevron pocket

This one is a beautiful blue with a grey undertone paired with a black and white pocket

These next 3 are Danskin brand from Walmart, they were in the womens section and are labeled "loose"
They also have semi-fitted tanks and fitted
They range from $3.97-$5.97

A navy blue paired with a yellow damask print and thats just an iron on letter
SHHH, don't tell ;)

Black tank paired with a black/white chevron pocket

I think this one is fun!
Red paired with this adorable chevron muli colored pocket!

Well,  those are my pocket tanks! I have 3 boy style ones in teal, purple, and white to add pockets too and a heather grey loose tank to add too! I think I'm going to get more fabric first :)

Thanks for reading!
